Bus Network Review Consultation

The Public Transport Division of the Department of Tourism and Leisure has recently undertaken a review of the bus network which has culminated in a consultation document on which it is now seeking views.

The Public Consultation document describes in detail, the changes proposed to the bus network and timetables. It is the Department’s intention, subject to any changes considered necessary following the consultation exercise, to introduce the new network and timetables in Spring 2010. The Department believes the proposals provide a much improved service to residents and visitors, and confirms that they can be achieved without additional resource implications.

All members of the public are invited to comment on the document and reply by 12th March 2010. Details of how to respond can be found in the document.

An electronic version of this document can be viewed on the Government’s Consultation website.

Hard copies available to view at the Welcome Centre, Tynwald Library, Isle of Man College Library along with Douglas, Port Erin and Ramsey Libraries.

Shiny New Noticeboard URL

There’s been a few changes made to the iombusandrail engine behind the scenes to make the noticeboard more accessible. Don’t worry, you’ll probably not really notice the difference - visually anyway.

However, the URL for the noticeboard has changed from iombusandrail.info/noticeboard.html to iombusandrail.info/noticeboard

(i.e. that’s no more .html)

So update your bookmarks!

The cool thing is, each actual post now has its own unique URL for easy ‘link-i-fication’ and re-tweeting. Also, whenever there’s a document related to a noticeboard post, you’ll now be able to download it straight from the noticeboard page.

Oh yeah, the URL for the noticeboard RSS feed has also changed, so if you’re an RSS’er please make sure to update your readers or aggregators.

Thanks,
